Troubleshooting: VPN

VPN disconnects or is very slow

If you're experiencing disconnections or unusual delays, try the following:

  1. Check if your internet provider is experiencing any outages or slowdowns. Resolve these and try connecting to VPN again.
  2. Try changing the VPN server location to a less crowded server or one closer to you. (Note that this may not be possible for your VPN client or organization.)
  3. Restart your computer and try connecting to VPN again.
  4. Close other applications.
  5. Uninstall the VPN client from your device and then reinstall it.

Can't connect to VPN

If you are having trouble connecting, try the following:

  1. Make sure that you are connected to a non-company network BEFORE connecting to VPN.
  2. If this is your first time connecting to VPN on this device, make sure you have entered the correct login credentials.
  3. Make sure your internet connection is working. You can do this by checking the status bar at the top (for Mac) or bottom of the screen (for Windows).
  4. Uninstall the VPN software, reinstall it, restart your computer, and try connecting to VPN again.
