Resetting Okta Verify
Reset Okta Verify from Okta Account
If you got a new phone and need to reset Okta Verify, try the following:
- On your desktop, sign into your Okta dashboard, click your profile > Settings > Edit Profile, and enter your verification password.
- Scroll to Extra Verification, find Okta Verify and click Reset (or Remove). Click Yes and re-enter your password if prompted.
- Set up your new phone by going back to the Extra Verification section and clicking Set up next to Okta Verify.
Set up Okta Verify on a new device
- On your desktop, sign into your Okta dashboard and click your profile > Settings > Edit Profile.
- Scroll to Extra Verification and click Set up next to Okta Verify.
- In the Set Up Okta Verify window, select your device, follow the prompts, and click Next.
- On your phone, launch Okta Verify, click the Add account icon, and scan the QR code. (If you can’t use your device camera to scan the QR code, click "Problems Scanning Barcode?").
- Select how you'd like to receive the instructions (email, SMS, etc.) and follow the prompts. Click Done.
Reset Okta MFA device
- On your desktop, sign into your Okta dashboard and click your profile > Settings > Edit Profile.
- Scroll to Extra Verification and choose Set up for your preferred method.
- Follow the prompts to set up your new MFA device, such as downloading an MFA app to your mobile device.
- On your device, open the MFA app that you downloaded and follow the prompts to sync it with your Okta account on your desktop.
