Handling Suspicious Emails
If you receive an email that looks suspicious or appears to be from an unknown or untrustworthy sender, do not open any attachments or click on any links in the email. Instead, follow these steps to handle the suspicious email:
- If possible, delete the email immediately.
- If you can't delete the email, mark it as spam or junk to prevent future emails from the same sender.
- Do not reply to the email or try to contact the sender.
- Report the suspicious email to your IT department or the service desk. Include the email subject, sender, and any other relevant details in your report.
By following these steps, you can help protect yourself and the company from potential phishing or malware attacks. If you're unsure whether an email is suspicious or not, contact your IT department for guidance. It's better to be safe than sorry when it comes to potentially harmful emails.
