How do I install a network printer with an IP address?

Before you begin: Obtain the printer IP address from IT or the printer.

  1. Check that you are connected to the company network <and disconnected from the VPN>.
  2. Click the Apple Menu > Systems Preferences > Printers and Scanners.
  3. Click the Plus icon ( + ) on the left to open the Add window.
  4. Click IP, enter the IP address into the Address field, and click Add.
    Your printer is installed!

How do I install a network printer from a list?

  1. Check that you are connected to the company network <and disconnected from VPN>.
  2. Open Systems Preferences and click Printers and Scanners to display a list of pre-installed network printers.
  3. Select a printer and click the Plus sign ( + ).
    You are ready to print!

How do I print to a network printer?
