Channels
Your AI Assistant can be deployed to any surface or chat system where your employees already work. This section covers each supported platform, its access requirements and setup, and the configuration that makes an assistant live on it.
Deploy the assistant
Every deployment follows the same shape. Complete the access requirements for the platform, create a chatbot configuration in Moveworks Setup under Chat Platforms > Manage Chatbots, pairing the channel with its connector and following the Bot Name convention, then add the new chatbot under Notification Routes so notifications reach users on that channel. Users must already be ingested into the Moveworks roster. Configure Moveworks Assistant walks through the full configuration for each channel.
Supported surfaces
The following surfaces and chat platforms are supported for deploying the Moveworks AI Assistant:
- EmployeeWorks Web App (ServiceNow)
- Slack
- Microsoft Teams
- Google Chat
- Webex Teams
- Zoom Chat
- Embedded AI Assistant
Each platform page lists the access the Moveworks app needs and the setup steps. The Microsoft Teams section also covers the app store and non-app-store setup paths, GCC, secret rotation, and multi-tenant deployments.
Web experiences
The EmployeeWorks Web App is the assistant inside ServiceNow, with Enterprise Search, Tasks and requests, Notifications, and Canvas alongside it. For your own portals and intranet sites, the Embedded AI Assistant places the assistant in any web page. AI Assistant on Web is the browser-only experience for organizations without either.
Custom surfaces
The Conversations API lets your own application create conversations with the assistant, send messages on behalf of signed-in users, and receive responses by polling or streaming. Use it for a surface Moveworks does not provide natively, such as a customer portal, a mobile app, or a voice or messaging surface. The API is in Controlled Availability; contact your Moveworks account team to participate.
Productivity Assistants
Employees open Productivity Assistants in the EmployeeWorks Web App. To make one available in Slack or Microsoft Teams, contact your Moveworks account team. Where end users find them covers each surface.
Channel behavior
Two configurations shape how the assistant behaves once it is deployed. Channel Resolver lets the assistant join public or private Slack channels, pick up support requests posted there, and reply to the poster by direct message, or in the channel thread when Respond in Thread is on; it is supported on Slack only. Display Configurations is where you edit the bot’s name, color theme, and the default dialogues it uses for greetings, handoff, ticketing, and other skills.
